When first visiting Canada in 1991, I found that Toronto was missing high quality, authentic Belgian Chocolate and I saw that as an opportunity to give Torontonians a whole new perspective!! My goal was to bring all chocolate lovers THE BEST OUT OF BELGIUM: the finest and healthiest chocolates and chocolate truffles Belgium has to offer. I started by finding artisans who produced exquisite chocolate and chocolate truffles for their local markets. I then created beautiful packaging to please the Canadian tastes and last but not least, provided a broad range of exceptional services. As a consequence, our unique chocolate shop opened in the Bloor-Yorkville area of Toronto in May 1993 and quickly became “The Chocolate Lover’s First Choice” in the city. Over the years, our main areas of focus have included retailing personal and corporate gifts as well as wholesaling of chocolates and truffles (in bulk only), in selected markets throughout Ontario. Beginning 2010, we have expanded the wholesale side by launching 2 new lines of pre-pack: our traditional, highly successful gourmet chocolate truffles and chocolate squares are now presented, sealed for freshness and attractively pre-packaged, to be sold in gift stores, gourmet stores, fine food emporiums, espresso bars and cafes. There is no question that consumers’ tastes have evolved and have become more sophisticated, especially with chocolate.
